18 arrested over ‘forged top talent scheme documents’

Eighteen people have been arrested on suspicion of providing or using forged documents for applications to Hong Kong's top talent scheme which comes with residency rights. The Immigration Department on Wednesday said five of the 18 are Hong Kong residents suspected of running the scam operation, while the rest are mainlanders who made applications under the Top Talent Pass Scheme. At a press briefing, the department said a syndicate used social media to contact people interested in securing Hong Kong residency, claiming they could provide a "one-stop service". "The syndicate would first charge a fee of HK$1 million to HK$1.5 million and offer one-stop services such as forging documents relating to overseas university qualifications, student visas, immigration stamps and an employment certificate for visa applications," said Assistant Principal Immigration Officer Hui Chi-kin. 73-Year-Old Republican Senator Disassociates in Middle of Interview

Business Louisiana Senator John Kennedy appeared to have a mental episode live on Larry Kudlow’s Fox Business show Tuesday, adding yet another entry to the long, bipartisan list of alarming age-related lowlights from our country’s leaders. “I’m sure Jesus loves him, but everybody else thinks—everybody else …” said Kennedy, 73, before trailing off. You can see it in his face—his eyes and mouth particularly—as he struggles to remember what he meant to say or where he is before ultimately giving up and freezing.things are going great on Larry Kudlow's show pic.twitter.com/synJiuE38z- Aaron Rupar (@Atrupar) July 22, 2025 The broadcast quickly got Kennedy off the screen while Kudlow blamed technical difficulties. What Kennedy meant to say was “Jesus loves him, but everyone else thinks he’s an idiot,” a phrase he’s repeated countless times over the...
