Elite Swimmers To Spend Week Competing In Ballarat | Mirage News

Lifestyle The Ballarat Aquatic and Lifestyle Centre (BALC) is set to host an array of up-and-coming swimming stars this week as part of an intense training camp and competition. Swimming Victoria will host the 2025 Tri Series from 8-12 July at BALC, attracting competitors from Victoria, Western Australia and New Zealand. About 100 young and aspiring athletes will call Ballarat home for a week, in what is a major coup for BALC as a sports events destination. The event will use the 50-metre pool and follow the success of previous successful events at the centre, including the 2024 Victorian Relay Championships. Although there will be some changes to normal swimming pool configuration, lap swimming options will remain available at all regular times for existing users. WASHINGTON - Several leading medical organisations filed a lawsuit against US Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr and the Department of Health and Human Services on July 7, arguing that current policies on Covid-19 vaccines pose an imminent threat to public health.The plaintiffs, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Physicians, American Public Health Association and Infectious Diseases Society of America, have asked the court to vacate Mr Kennedy’s recent directive removing the Covid-19 vaccine from the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention’s childhood and pregnant-women immunisation schedules.The lawsuit accuses Mr Kennedy of working “to dismantle the longstanding, Congressionally-authorised, science- and evidence-based vaccine infrastructure that has prevented the deaths of untold millions of Americans.”Representatives for HHS did not immediately respond to a request for comment.Lead counsel for the plaintiffs Richard Hughes, a partner...

PAHO and CDRI Sign Agreement to Strengthen Health Infrastructure Resilience Against Disasters

Washington D.C. July 3, 2025 – The Director of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), Dr. Jarbas Barbosa, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Amit Prothi, Director General of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) to strengthen cooperation in developing safer and more resilient health systems against climate change and natural disasters.
