Cebu leaders support Marcos’ push for flood control, healthcare

CEBU officials reacted to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s fourth State of the Nation Address, focusing on the local impact of new national initiatives concerning healthcare, infrastructure and drive against corruption. Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival praised the call for mandatory status reports on flood-control projects from the Department of Public Works and Highways and local government units. He said such efforts must align with the City’s drainage master plan. The mayor also supported the President’s remarks on shared responsibility for waste management and vowed to implement rainwater catchment and solid waste programs. “Every time we have declogging, there is a lot of plastic blocking water in the pipes.
