NASA SpaceX Crew-9 Set to Bring Home Stranded Astronauts

NASA Space Technology NASA's SpaceX Crew-9 mission is due to liftoff on Saturday, sending two astronauts zooming toward the International Space Station, with the hopes of returning two more astronauts stuck in space. The astronauts aboard the Dragon capsule—NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov—are scheduled to be launched into space using a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 1:17 p.m. ET.The Dragon spacecraft will remain docked at the ISS for five months until it returns with the Crew-9 astronauts, as well as Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, the NASA astronauts who flew to the station in June aboard the malfunctioning Boeing Starliner and have been stranded in space ever since.Image of a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket carrying the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) weather satellite Geostationary...

Image: SpaceXNASA is delaying the launch of the next space station crew as it continues to work through thruster issues with Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft. In a blog post, the agency said the launch of the Crew-9 mission, aboard a SpaceX Dragon capsule, is now targeted for no earlier than Tuesday, Sept. 24.“This adjustment allows more time for mission managers to finalize return planning for the agency’s Boeing Crew Flight Test currently docked to the orbiting laboratory,” NASA wrote. “Starliner ground teams are taking their time to analyze the results of recent docked hot-fire testing, finalize flight rationale for the spacecraft’s integrated propulsion system, and confirm system reliability ahead of Starliner’s return to Earth.”The...
