Following the events of 9/11, Sinise expanded his outreach by participating in USO Celebrity Handshake Tours, bringing morale-boosting entertainment to troops both at home and abroad. In 2003, he founded the Lt. Dan Band, named after his iconic character, to continue supporting military personnel through music and visits to VA hospitals.
