BREAKING NEWS: Legendary Music Icon, Akiin Shuga Is Dead
Nigerias entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the death of renowned live band leader and music icon, Akinloye Tofowomo, popularly known as Akiin Shuga.
In an official family statement released on Monday, the family confirmed that the revered musician and founder of Shuga Band and Shuga Entertainment passed away in New Brunswick, Canada.
The statement described Akiin Shuga as more than a musician, portraying him as a custodian of rhythm, culture, and the spirit of performance.
For over three decades, Akiin Shuga stood tall as one of Nigerias most respected live performers, leading his band with grace, mastery, and purpose. Beyond his music, he also inspired and mentored many young talents within and outside Nigerias entertainment space.
The family expressed gratitude to friends, fans, and well-wishers for their prayers and tributes while requesting privacy as they come to terms with the immeasurable loss.
Further details regarding memorial arrangements will be announced in due course.
Akiin Shuga is survived by his wife, children, siblings, and mother.
May his soul rest in peace.

Celebrity medium Tyler Henry is recuperating after undergoing a third brain surgery, his second in 2025.

Kenya has signed a historic five-year health agreement with the US, the first such pact since Donald Trump’s administration overhauled its foreign aid programme.

Blue Origin scrubs New Glenn’s second flight due to bad weather
Blue Origin has postponed the second flight of its New Glenn rocket, which was slated to send a pair of NASA spacecraft on the first step of their journey to Mars on Sunday afternoon. The heavy-lift launch vehicle was scheduled to take off from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida at 2:45PM ET., but multiple holds were issued during the under-two-hour launch window due to inclement weather. Galliford Try in new bid to rid delayed scheme of legionella
Galliford Try has retaken control of the water system at a delayed south coast care project in an attempt to solve a stubborn legionella problem.
Due to have been completed in 2023, Worthing Integrated Care Centre (WICC) was handed over to the NHS in December last year, after Galliford Try thought it had fixed the issue.
But fresh traces of legionella bacteria were detected in its water supply earlier this year and Galliford Try has now fitted a new, larger water pump, which it believes may resolve the fault.
It has also formally accepted the system back under its control to carry out further remedial work.
