US President Donald Trump on Wednesday announced that the headquarters of US Space Command will be relocated to Huntsville, Alabama, reversing a Biden-era decision to keep it at its temporary base in Colorado. “The US Space Command headquarters will move to the beautiful locale of a place called Huntsville, Alabama, forever to be known from this point forward as Rocket City,” Trump said at the Oval Office, flanked by Alabama’s Republican congressional delegation. “We had a lot of competition for this and Alabama’s getting it. They fought harder for it than anybody else.” The announcement ended a four-year tussle between Alabama and Colorado, as well as between Trump and Biden administrations, over the facility.
