Business Despite recent claims that European startups aren’t working hard enough, new research shows the continent’s founders are putting in serious shifts to turn their ideas into successful businesses. A survey of 128 founders by early-stage VC firm Antler found that three-quarters of them work more than 60 hours weekly, with 19% exceeding 80 hours. German founders emerged as Europe’s hardest workers, with 94% working more than 60 hours weekly and 38% exceeding 80 hours. Ashok Leyland secures defence orders worth Rs 700 crore

CHENNAI: Hinduja Group flagship Ashok Leyland has announced that its defence business has won multiple orders valued at more than Rs 700 crore. The vehicles to be supplied under these orders are to fulfil defence sector needs of troop transportation, logistics and other specialized mobility requirements under the Close-in Weapon Systems (CIWS) programme. Deliveries will commence next financial year.The recently awarded contracts encompass a diverse range of specialized vehicles, including the Stallion 4x4, Stallion 6x6, Short Chassis Bus and Mobility System Travelling Platform. Shenu Agarwal, MD & CEO of Ashok Leyland, said, “The defence business remains a key pillar of Ashok Leyland’s future growth.” Amandeep Singh, president – defence business, Ashok Leyland, said, “Our future defence order and tender pipeline is also quite robust.”
