NASA space mission to launch artificial star into space

NASA Space Technology In upcoming years, the twinkle of stars in the night sky might be joined by the glow of laser beams.A new NASA space project, the Landolt Mission, plans to launch an artificial “star” into Earth’s orbit. The project will be used to more accurately determine the absolute flux calibration of stars, also known as their brightness. The mission ground control will be based at George Mason University in the state of Virginia. The mission expands on the work of its inspiration and namesake Arlo Landoltthe late astronomer and pioneer of stellar brightness catalogs.“His last name is famous in the whole astronomy community. NASA Space Technology Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Nasarawa State successfully repelled an attempted attack on their state command headquarters in Lafia by suspected bandits in the early hours of Monday.The State Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Mr Jerry Victor, confirmed the incident in a telephone interview on Tuesday.Mr Victor disclosed that an unspecified number of gunmen believed to be bandits, invaded the NSCDC headquarters. “The gunmen, who came in large numbers armed with iron rods, attempted to break some parts of the command’s fence to gain entry into the facility,” he explained. NSCDC Repels Bandits Attack On Nasarawa Command Headquarters
