Devastating New Poll Shows Almost Everyone Is Unhappy Under Trump

By and large, Americans are dumping Donald Trump’s policies. Within the first seven months of his second term, Trump has managed to add trillions to the deficit, eviscerate agencies like the Education Department, rattle the economy, shake America’s strongest alliances, develop concentration camps for his sweeping deportation program, and strip popular social programs such as Medicaid from millions of Americans. But despite following through on his campaign promises, Trump has failed to earn majority support for any major issue, according to a new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research published Thursday. Approximately half of U.S. adults—49 percent—believe that Trump’s policies have “done more to hurt” them than help them since he returned to the White House, according to the survey. Twenty-two percent of that group reported that Trump’s policies have not made...

Health and education are too important to be left at the mercy of the state alone: Ayanda Zulu

The Basic Education Laws Amendment (BELA) Act and the National Health Insurance (NHI) Act, both passed into law in 2024, represent some of the most far-reaching expansions of state power in post-apartheid South Africa. While presented as reforms meant to improve access to education and healthcare, both Acts undermine individual freedom and reflect a deeper shift toward centralisation and state control. Rather than promoting diversity and...

Step-by-Step Road Construction: A Comparative Analysis of Concrete and Asphalt Techniques in Nigeria, the UK, America, and Canada

Road construction is a critical infrastructural element that fuels economic growth and enhances connectivity. In this blog post, we will delve into the step-by-step processes involved in constructing roads, focusing on the two primary materials used: concrete and asphalt. We will also explore how these processes differ across Nigeria, the UK, America, and Canada, considering local materials, climatic conditions, and engineering practices. Understanding Road Types and Materials Before we dive into the construction processes, it is essential to understand the types of roads and the materials involved: Types of Roads: Highways: Major roads designed for fast traffic. Local Roads: Smaller roads serving residential areas. Access Roads: Roads that provide access to properties and facilities. Materials: Concrete: A durable material made from cement, aggregates, and water, often used for highways and urban roads due to its longevity. Asphalt: A flexible material made from bitumen and...
