Speaking at a press conference in Abuja on Friday, Musa commended the police for their efforts so far and assured that the armed forces are closely monitoring the situation.Musa urged calm and encouraged citizens to provide information on any suspicious activities. Politics tamfitronics Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Edo State, is currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital following an attack on his convoy by suspected political thugs in Benin City. The attack, which occurred on Thursday afternoon, left one policeman dead and two others injured.According to a statement released by Godswill Inegbe, Legislative Aide to Okpebholo in charge of Media & Communication, the attack was carried out by members of the Edo State Security Network and Edo state government-sponsored thugs allegedly led by Francis Inegbeniki. Politics tamfitronics A former President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Mr. Takai Shamang, has been kidnapped in his hometown of Biniki, Kaura Local Government Area, Kaduna State.Shamang, 78, a renowned labour leader, was also the former president-general of the National Union of Electricity and Gas Workers (now National Union of Electricity Employees) from 1982 to 1989.The abduction was confirmed by his daughter, Mrs. Grace Abbin, on Sunday.According to her, Shamang was taken from his Biniki residence around 8:00 pm on Friday.Shamang is the founder and President of Gantys Aid for Widows, Orphans, and Needy Foundation (GAWON Foundation), a philanthropic organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable groups.
