Trump news at a glance: president dismisses continued Epstein and Maxwell furore as ‘not a big thing’

Donald Trump continued to face questions about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein as he landed in Scotland ahead of meeting British prime minister Keir Starmer and EU chief Ursula von der Leyen. The US president denied reports that he was briefed about his name appearing in the Epstein files after landing on Friday evening local time. He was also asked about the justice department’s questioning of Ghislaine Maxwell and suggestions he might offer her clemency. Obviously, this is no time to be talking about pardons” he went on. “You’re making a very big thing over something that’s not a big thing.” Here are the key US politics stories today:Trump deflects Epstein questions as he...

While incremental adjustments are routinely made, it's increasingly clear that only bold, transformative changes will truly secure its financial sustainability and enhance patient outcomes. This opinion piece outlines several strategic shifts that could unlock significant savings and improve efficiency across the province's health services. Firstly, a radical re-evaluation of our primary care model is long overdue. The traditional fee-for-service model often incentivises volume over comprehensive, preventative care. Public Health Officials Move To Protect Native Americans Against Measles Outbreak

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Native American tribes and health organizations are responding to concerns about low measles vaccination rates and patients’ difficulty getting care as an outbreak of the disease spreads around the country. The push to ensure Native American communities are protected from the virus comes as the U.S. is experiencing its worst measles outbreak since 1992. The South Dakota health department announced in early June that the first case in the state was an adult from the Rapid City area. Cassandra Palmier and her son, Makaito Cuny, have benefited from this outreach. Palmier jumped at the opportunity to get her 5-year-old vaccinated after learning that a mobile clinic...
