Scientists design all-back-contact transparent solar cell

Technology tamfitronics A research team from South Korea’s Ulsan National Institute of Science & Technology (UNIST) has designed a wire-free transparent solar cell and module with all electrical contacts placed on the rear side. A 16 cm² module achieved a power conversion efficiency of 14.7% and successfully charged a smartphone using natural sunlight. September 16, 2024 Patrick JowettImage: UNISTResearchers from the School of Energy and Chemical Engineering at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) in South Korea have fabricated a new transparent solar cell and module. The team’s design features an all-back-contact (ABC) configuration, which places all electrical contacts on the rear side, creating a glass-like transparent crystalline silicon (c-Si) cell. They also developed Seamless Modularization technology to eliminate gaps between devices without using metal wires, resulting in a metal wire-free solar module. The ABC...

Sennheiser Spectera

Technology tamfitronics Unveiling the worlds first wideband, bidirectional, digital wireless ecosystemWEBWIRE – Monday, September 16, 2024At IBC, Sennheiser ushers in a new era of digital wireless audio transmission with the worlds first bidirectional wideband solution: Spectera. Using the ground-breaking WMAS (Wireless Multichannel Audio Systems) technology, Spectera greatly reduces wireless system complexity, while at the same time considerably increasing capability, enabling time-saving workflows and offering full remote control and monitoring, including permanent spectrum sensing. Spectera features bidirectional bodypacks that manage both digital IEM/IFB and mic/line signals at the same time. The solution is remarkably resistant to RF fading and allows for flexible use of the wideband RF channel, for example for digital IEMs with a latency down to a spectacular 0.7 milliseconds. We are thrilled to see years of technological development and spectrum policy work turn...
