Although Cardi B has always been vocal about politics, there are still naysayers who believe that she only discusses candidates when it benefits her. Early Saturday morning (Nov. 2), she directly addressed claims that she was paid a “hefty amount” to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

After coming out to a Democratic rally on behalf of Harris in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the “Press” emcee finally got tired of seeing posts claiming that she was paid to make her speech, she said, “I did not get paid a dollar for this…I actually been talking about these topics for the past couple years FOR FREE on ALL my platforms!! Before I was a celebrity I was a product of poverty for 24 years so you not gonna tell me what I want to see in MY community.”

Following her poetic clap back, she shared a clip of her speech with a caption exclaiming, “Just 2 days ago Donald Trump said he’s gonna protect women whether they like it or not? Donnie please… Protection for women, especially if we’re talking about maternal and mental healthcare, isn’t telling them WHAT to do with their bodies it’s supporting them and giving them the care they need for what THEY CHOOSE to do with their bodies!!!”

She followed up her post with another tweet comparing herself to Harris explaining, “Just like Kamala Harris, I have been the underdog and I have been underestimated!! My success always discredited!… Let me tell you something, women have to work ten times harder and perform ten times better and STILL our success comes with excuses… its because shes pretty or because she slept her way to the top.”

Cardi B joins A-list artists like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Sexyy Red, Bad Bunny, Usher, GloRilla and more, who have all publicly endorsed VP Harris in the upcoming 2024 presidential election. She has been applauded for years for her advocacy around political topics, and it seems she is not slowing down anytime soon.

The popular songstress is slated to release her long-awaited sophomore album soon. There is currently no public-facing release date.

Top Stories Tamfitronics Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara

    By BARBARA KALU, Port-Harcourt –

Rivers State Government has debunked a social media report alleging that Governor Siminalayi Fubara shut down the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), and other oil companies in the state.

The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Warisenibo Joe Johnson, who disclosed this in a statement on Thursday, described the report false and a concocted propaganda.

The statement reads, “The attention of Rivers State Government has been drawn to a spurious news item circulating on social media on “Gov. Siminalayi Fubara shutting down NNPCL and all oil companies in Rivers State”.

“The report was not only false, but a concocted propaganda from the imagination of the author and enemies of the State. The story was also circulated by an inconsequential and unverified medium.

“Governor Siminalayi Fubara is committed to the rule of law and does not rely on unconventional and crude approaches to respond to matters of governance.

“We therefore enjoin Rivers people and well-meaning Nigerians to discountenance the spurious and fake report as Governor Fubara at no time contemplated and/or directed such needless order of shutting down the economy for any reason.”

NYSC denies rejecting SLT graduates from polytechnics

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has denied reports that it refused to register Science and Laboratory Technology (SLT), graduates at its Gombe State Orientation Camp.

The reports had alleged that Polytechnic graduates, who studied SLT, were denied access for not having professional certificates of the National Institute for Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT).

NYSC Coordinator in Gombe, Mrs Chinwe Nwachuku, while reacting to the claims, declared them as “untrue and baseless”.

“No SLT graduate was denied registration; all graduates who showed up in Gombe were registered and are already undergoing their orientation course.

“In Gombe camp, I am not aware of any SLT graduate not registered. We registered everyone with or without license.

“I am aware that some of them came without license, but we registered them because the headquarters gave the directive to register all, with or without license.

“Nobody was denied registration as far as Gombe camp is concerned,” she said.

The state coordinator appealed to peddlers of such fake news to always fact check their stories before publishing, to avoid misleading the public.

Corroborating Nwachukwu, Ms Oluwabunmi Alfred, a graduate of SLT Microbiology from Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo-Ora, told the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) that she registered without hassles.

“My registration was seamless; I wonder why anyone would be spreading such fake news.”

Similarly, Mr Luka Shekwolo, an SLT Physics and Electrical graduate from Nasarawa State Polytechnics, Lafia, said that the story claiming that they were denied registration is false.

“I was registered in spite of not having the NISLT professional certification.

“If SLT graduates were denied, I will not be here; so, the report is entirely false because I am enjoying myself in Gombe camp.”(NAN)
