With an impressive UFC 305 pay-per-view in the rearview, people are back to speculating about ‘The Notorious’s return. When Daniel Cormier and Chael Sonnen weighed in on the situation in their ESPN show, ‘The American Gangster’ appeared to claim that he’d been in contact with Conor McGregor himself. However, he failed to bring out any piece of vital information about the return.

“I talked to team McGregor over the weekend. I actually went to Conor and just last night, I said, ‘Hey, you’d really make me look good if you could give me something I could use with Daniel on our show,’” said Chael Sonnen. “‘Finish this sentence for me. Conor McGregor wants to fight this year. Dana says it’s not going to happen’… I get nothing back.”

While Conor McGregor’s stayed silent, Michael Chandler has been vocal that there is life for him besides waiting for the Irishman. It remains to be seen if a 2024 return is on the cards for the former ‘champ champ’. Now, let’s take a look at the other news in the roundup.

Top Stories Tamfitronics Tom Aspinall goes off on Jon Jones and the UFC CEO, Dana White

With 8 finishes in his 9 UFC fights so far, it was only a matter of time before Tom Aspinall saw himself crowned champion. But despite his impressive resume and performances, he doesn’t feel like he’s given the respect by Dana White and Co. that he thinks he rightfully deserves.“I am the best heavyweight in the world and I’m not [getting] my credit for it. They’re holding the belt hostage, mate. And Jon Jones is loving it,” Aspinall stated on Michael Bisping‘s YouTube channel.

The fact that Dana White never fails to mention Jon Jones’s name whenever he makes any podcast appearances or during interviews has been an advantage for Jones in avoiding the clash with Tom Aspinall. That’s why the self-proclaimed ‘Honey Badger’ has a problem with the UFC.

“He’s loving the fact that Dana White is getting on every interview possible, freaking hell, you talk about bantamweight and Dana White flips it back and starts talking about how good Jon Jones is,”Aspinall added. With the UFC CEO praising Jones whenever he can, the only thing the interim champion has suggested is that “If he’s that good, let’s fight.”We’ll have to see how White and Jones react to these statements.

Top Stories Tamfitronics Israel Adesanya opens up on his UFC 305 ‘Max Holloway’ moment

It’s safe to say that the UFC 305 headliner did not disappoint because the champion and challenger both put up one of the best fights in recent memory. Although Israel Adesanya lost, there was a moment during the fight when he pointed down after getting hit with a shot from Dricus du Plessis. And Daniel Cormier, who was in the commentary booth, believed that he was trying to bring out his inner Max Hollowaybut that was far from the truth.

    via Imago

“It looked like I was rocked but like, [I] got up and circled out and I pointed at the ground looking at him [du Plessis] and DC goes, ‘He’s pointing at the ground like Max Holloway, like come here.’ Nope,”Israel Adesanya stated on his YouTube channel. The gesture was actually a message to Dricus du Plessis. Adesanya claimed that he wanted to tell the South African star that his offense wasn’t very effective. “What I said to him was like, ‘I tripped. You didn’t rock me.’ I don’t want him to think that he rocked me or anything,”Israel Adesanya added. Well, that fight is in the past now and it will be interesting to see whom he fights next. Just like Adesanya said, he’s not“f***ing leaving.”

The England star looks set to sign for the Spanish giants in a £34m deal.

Atletico striker Samu Omorodion looks to be heading to Stamford Bridge in a £34.5m deal himself.

The transfer merry-go-round will also likely mean Atletico complete their £81m deal for Man City’s Julian Alvarez as a replacement for Omorodion.

    • Society expects Zubimendi agreement

Real Sociedad are reportedly expecting Martin Zubimendi to agree a move to Liverpool this summer.

Arne Slot’s Reds are eyeing a move for the Spain international as they look for a new no.6 in the window.

According to The Athletic, Zubimendi is expected to strike up a deal with Liverpool.

Previous suitors such as Arsenal and Barcelona are said to have struggled to convince Zubimendi to make a switch away from Spain in recent transfer windows.

It’s claimed that Sociedad will not stand in Zubimendi’s way should he ask to leave the club.

    • Kurt Zouma heading out

West Ham ace Kurt Zouma is set to leave this summer to link up with the Iranian Messi.

Reports have claimed that Zouma is set for a move to Dubai outfit Shabab Al-Ahli.

This would see the centre-back team up with former Premier League hero Luka Milivojević and the once-dubbed “Iranian Messi” Sardar Azmoun.

Former Monaco and Sporting Lisbon manager Leonardo Jardim currently manages the club.

According to TalkSPORTthe Frenchman has been deemed surplus to requirements at the London Stadium.

    • Everything about Samu Omorodion

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Atletico Madrid ace Samu Omorodion.

According to The AthleticOmorodion is on his way to Stamford Bridge.

It is claimed the Blues have finally reached an agreement with Atletico and the striker is set to sign an eight-year deal.

Last season, Premier League clubs voted in an “anti-Chelsea rule” to ban transfer fees being spread over the full duration of abnormally long contracts.

That means on the West Londoners’ books, they can only amortise the Spaniard’s fee over a maximum of five years.

    • More Tottenham transfer news

There has been interest from the Saudi Pro League in Richarlison but SunSport understands a move for Dominic Solanke is not dependent on the Brazilian being sold.

Other strikers including Lille’s Jonathan David, Brentford’s Ivan Toney and Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres have been considered – though the latter’s price tag of £80million would likely be too steep.

A new winger is also on the wanted list in N17 with Wolves’ Pedro Neto and Crystal Palace’s England star Eberechi Eze among those admired.

    • Tottenham still chase Solanke

Tottenham are growing in confidence that they will land striker Dominic Solanke this summer.

The North Londoners hold a long-term interest in the Bournemouth star, who netted 19 Premier League goals last season.

Ange Postecoglou wants a new centre-forward after regularly using winger and captain Son Heung-min through the middle last season.

Solanke, 26, has a £65million release clause in his Cherries contract.

Bournemouth owner Bill Foley admitted in July that the club have “two or three” replacement targets lined up in the event of the one-cap England striker leaving.

The South-Coast side signed Solanke for £19million in 2019 from Liverpool, who have a 20 per cent sell-on clause.

Should Spurs activate Solanke’s release clause, they would break their transfer record which is currently set at the £60m they paid Everton for Richarlison two summers ago.

    • Preston sign Villa ace

Preston North End have signed Aston Villa right-back Kaine Kesler-Hayden on loan for the season.

The 21-year-old signed a new contract with Villa last month and his move to Deepdale follows previous loan spells with Swindon Town, MK Dons, Huddersfield Town and Plymouth Argyle.

I had a chat with the gaffer at Villa and he thought the best thing for me to do was to get another season of minutes under my belt and a bit more experience.

I think this is the best place for me to do that.

      Kaine Kesler-Hayden

    • Armando Broja status

Armando Broja will hold talks with Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca after returning to London ahead of an expected move.

The striker, 22, was left out of the squad for the final game of the club’s American tour against Real Madrid and is seeking a permanent move away.

Wolves are the current front runners to sign the Albania international, who Chelsea value at £25million.

There is interest from Premier League rivals Everton, though only if Dominic Calvert-Lewin were to leave the club this summer.

Chelsea landed back from their pre-season tour today, and the striker will meet with Maresca at Cobham in the coming days.

    • Alejo Veliz loan

Tottenham are set to loan striker Alejo Veliz to La Liga new-boys Espanyol.

The Argentine, 20, joined Spurs last summer in a £13million deal.

He struggled for game-time, making just eight appearances including no starts and scoring one goal, and was loaned to Sevilla in January.

But that switch was just as limited minutes-wise as he featured only six times and all off the bench.

Spurs are keen for him to get more experience and with plans to sign a new first-choice striker, they are happy to farm him out.

That has led to the prospect of a straight loan, with no option or obligation to buy, to Espanyol, who were promoted to Spain’s top flight last term.

    • Conor Gallagher latest

Conor Gallagher is due to fly to Madrid tonight ahead of a proposed medical at Atletico Madrid on Thursday.

Chelsea accepted a £33million bid for the England midfielder from Diego Simeone’s Spanish giants last month.

The Blues then banished Gallagher from the first team in the hope it would convince him of accepting the switch to La Liga.

That was because they risked losing the 24-year-old on a free transfer in less than a year’s time when his contract ran out.

They had offered Gallagher a new deal on three occasions but only on terms of two years plus a year’s option – in stark contrast to the lengthy terms being offered to other players.

Gallagher rejected those offers and though he remained open to signing a fresh long-term contract, said yes to the Atletico switch.

It has taken a few days to iron things out between the two clubs but now Gallagher is expected in Madrid to undertake his medical checks ahead of signing a five-year deal.

He is likely to be joined by Julian Alvarez, whom Atletico are close to signing from Manchester City for a deal that could rise above £81.5m.

    • Chelsea signing Samu Omorodion

Chelsea are set to sign Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid after an impressive loan stint at Alaves.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Omorodion will be moving to Stamford Bridge.

The Blues and Atletico have struck a £35million deal for the striker.

The Spain Under-23 international has penned a seven-year contract with the West Londoners.

The 20-year-old is set to undergo a medical at Chelsea.

    • Martin Zubimendi transfer war

Liverpool are keen on signing Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi this summer.

Zubimendi, who has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal and Manchester United, has been named as a top target for the Reds.

However, the potential deal is understood to be difficult with the 25-year-old’s release clause having to be paid in full.

The midfielder is believed to have a £51.7million buyout in his Sociedad contract, a hefty fee to cover in one.

Another stumbling block for the Merseysiders could be convincing the Spain international to make the switch to the Premier League.

According toThe Athleticother suitors such as the Gunners and Barcelona have failed to convince Zubimendi to jump ship.

    • Another goalkeeper for Newcastle?

Burnley star James Trafford could be a step nearer moving to Newcastle after his club signed a replacement.

The Magpies have already failed in a £16million bid for Trafford, who was the hero of England’s under-21 European Championship triumph in 2023.

But the Toon have been given hope they could finally get their man after the Clarets signed another goalkeeper in Etienne Green from Saint-Etienne.

Burnley are holding out for £30million for Trafford, the same fee they are demanding from Manchester United for Sander Berge.

    • Federico Church situation

Manchester United are still keeping tabs on Juventus star Federico Chiesa during summer transfer window.

Chiesa, though, is also being eyed by Tottenham as well as Arsenal.

According to theDaily MailJuve are looking to sell up to eight players this summer, including the winger.

Both United and the Gunners are eyeing a cut-price deal for the 26-year-old, who is into the final year of his contract.

    • Marc Guehi merry-go-round

Liverpool are ready to join the bidding war for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi.

The Reds are keen to rival Newcastle, with Palace ready to demand £75million for Guehi.

The Merseysiders are also planning a swap deal for Newcastle star Anthony Gordon.

That could see Liverpool ace Joe Gomez going the other way at St James’ Park.

    • Julian Alvarez imminent

Manchester City star Julian Alvarez is closing in on a move to Atletico Madrid.

According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Atletico are preparing all documents to complete the Alvarez deal.

It may take some time until the striker signs his contract with Atleti but a verbal agreement has been reached.

The Argentina international agreed on contract until 2029 following a deal between the Spanish giants and City which will cost €75million (£64m) plus €20m (£17m) in add-ons.

    • Hein closing in on move

Arsenal keeper Karl Hein is on the verge of joining La Liga side Real Valladolid on loan.

The Spanish club have swooped in late to nab the Gunners No3 after League One Charlton had shown an interest.

Hein, 22, started all three of Arsenal’s pre-season games in the States with David Raya and Aaron Ramsdale enjoying an extended break after their Euros antics.

But having signed a new deal in June, it was always the plan for him to go out on loan this season for some much-needed first-team experience.

Upon his arrival at Brammall Lane, the defender said: “I am really looking forward to it. It is a great opportunity which the club and the manager have given to me.

“I am just looking forward to getting started. It has always been the plan to showcase what I can do in the Premier League with the chances I’ve had, so now I want to try and do that week in, week out, here.

“This is a new challenge. I am taking myself out of my comfort zone. I’ve been there (at Chelsea) a while now, so I am ready to kick on. I came here last season for an away day, and seeing the fans and how they get behind the team, how much they love it, I was impressed.”
