Mr. Anderson is a distinguished professional in technology and cybersecurity, currently serving as the Deputy Chief Technology Officer for the Dallas Independent School District. Since assuming this role in 2023, he has overseen Governance, Risk, and Compliance while ensuring operational efficiency across all Educational Technology Departments. His responsibilities encompass managing enterprise systems, cybersecurity, privacy, software development, and program management. Additionally, he is pivotal in strategic planning, tactical implementation, and serves as an advisor, mentor, and coach.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Anderson was the Chief Information Security Officer for the same district from 2022 to 2023. Concurrently, he served as an Adjunct Professor of Cybersecurity at Collin College. From 2018 to 2021, he held dual roles as Chief Information Security Officer and Chief Privacy Officer for Dallas County, following his tenure as the Head of Enterprise Security at BenefitMall from 2013 to 2018. A veteran of the U.S. Army’s Military Intelligence Corps, Mr. Anderson served as a Senior Intelligence Analyst.
In addition to his professional roles, Mr. Anderson is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Your Thought Life Mindset Coaching, established in 2020. His career is adorned with numerous accolades, including several Board-level appointments, Speaker of the Year, and Employee of the Year. He is particularly proud of overcoming mindset issues, personal struggles, and a challenging upbringing to achieve extraordinary success.
Mr. Anderson’s academic achievements include a Master of Science in Information Systems and Technology Management from Capella University (2018) and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Bellevue University (2004). He holds several professional certifications, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Practitioner (CBT), Neuro-Linguistic Programming Practitioner (NLP), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
Mr. Anderson attributes his success to an unwavering determination to overcome challenges. Inspired by his grandmother, who provided a safe environment that enabled him to turn his life around, graduate from high school, and join the U.S. Army, he continually moves forward, grows, and learns until success is achieved. The Army provided essential tools, education, and opportunities, shaping him into a well-rounded leader. Additionally, he acknowledges the mentors who supported him through difficult times in his early life and those who prepared him for executive leadership.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Anderson enjoys spending time with his family, meditating, and making music. Looking ahead, he aims to find a suitable successor for his business upon retirement. Envisioning a future where the tradition of passing on his business to his family is revived, he seeks to expand his reach and broaden his audience to help more people fast-track their personal and professional success.
